This leadership infographic spells out the huge gaps in leadership between what followers expect, and what leaders do. (Scroll down for the infographic or you can download it here). The full pdf is here.

Compiled by Kelly Recruitment, the research in the leadership infographic below from 168,000 people from 30 different countries found:

· Most leaders (52%) on average did not inspire their followers

· In Thailand over 60% of leaders were not inspiring their followers and were considered too authoritarian

· Most employees (62%) on average did not believe in their company’s mission

· There were significant gaps seen by followers who wanted their managers to be more visionary, empathetic, and empowering

How to fix the challenges

If you would like to fix these challenges, then The Leadership Challenge training programme is for you. Unsurprisingly (to us) the research in the Kelly leadership infographic echoes that compiled by Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner in The Leadership Challenge.

Based on over 30 years research from over 40 different countries, The Leadership Challenge breaks leadership into 5 easy Practices, fixing the problems above by…

— Training visionary through the practice of Inspiring a Shared Vision (Practice #2)

— Training empathetic through the practice of Encouraging the Heart (Practice #5)

— Training empowering through the practice of Enabling Others to Act (Practice #4)
