Gamification is much-hyped but also greatly misunderstood. Gamification can change behaviours in positive ways and we wanted to share with you a video that shows how – then look at some of the key principles of effective gamification used in this (real) experiment.

You have a number of routine tasks that need to be accomplished

You can break those tasks into tiny actions

You can make those tasks fun

You can offer some reward – real or perceived

You can make that into a public or visible achievement
